Chetak Foundation, MCD and CRPF plant medicinal trees and herbs on Environment day at Preet Vihar, Delhi
Chetak Foundation, in association with MCD (Municipal Corporate of Delhi) and CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), launched the second phase of Chetak Foundation`s Oxygen Plus (Environment Protection) initiative by planting medicinal herbs and trees at Herbal Garden, Paschim Vihar, New Delhi, today. The Chief Guest, Smt. Shikha Gupta Bhardwar, MCD Councillor (Saraswati Vihar Ward 58), The Guest of Honour Shri Vinay Kumar Tiwari, Commandant 1 Signal BN, planted the medicinal herbs and trees along with Smt. Krishna Sharma, Patron, Chetak Foundation. The oxygen-boosting and medicinal tree plantation, complete with Tree Guards (for longevity and survival of plants), was carried out in the presence of Shri Neeraj Garg, BJP Ward President, Shri Gaurav, SO, Horticulture, Keshav Puram Zone, Shri Malvinder, ADDH, Keshav Puram Zone and the senior office bearers of Paschim Vihar RWA (A-Block). Trees and herbs with amazing medicinal properties, like Neem, Tulsi, Amla, Asparagus, Ashoka and Fikus, were planted for the benefit of inhabitants of Saraswati Vihar (Ward 58) and local citizens. Tree plantation at the Herbal Garden, Paschim Vihar, was another significant step for the Chetak Foundation, MCD and CRFP towards ensuring a healthy environment and healthy people. MCD Councillor (Ward 58, Delhi) Smt. Shikha Gupta Bhardwaj shared, "I am happy to be part of this noble initiative by Chetak Foundation, MCD and CRPF and what better time than Environment Day to plant medicinal herbs and trees. I appreciate Smt. Krishna Sharma ji, the Chetak Family and CRPF for pursuing such progressive initiatives, especially in Delhi, that needs to address pollution and pollution-related health issues." Speaking on the occasion Commandant Officer – 1 Bn CRFP, Shri Vinay Kumar Tiwari, said, "We are happy to associate with Chetak Foundation for the worthy cause of environment protection, which aligns with our philosophy of maintaining a green and clean environment. We commend the efforts of the Chetak Foundation and MCD and will take our association further. We wish them success for their laudable initiative."
