He was known for his exemplary pioneering work in Logistics. He created new benchmarks, using innovation and technology. He was acclaimed as the leading entrepreneur of the 20th century and commended for his dynamic and visionary leadership. He was a genius and an inspirational leader. His success sparked the imagination of a generation of progressive Indian entrepreneurs and business leaders, and for many he remains an icon, and a model to follow. Jai Karan Sharma was a business statesman who introduced, what is now called Integrated Logistics Solutions with multi-modal transportation, warehousing, packaging, just-in-time solutions, and way back in 1980s. He had a knack for visualizing the future economic scenario, which helped him take the most daring decision relating to fleet expansion and assets acquisition which resulted sectorial growth and huge employment. He challenged conventional ways of working. The business philosophy as a leader was short and simple that focused on ensuring excellent client servicing and keeping his commitments. He ensured that Chetak Logistics was always future-ready. Jai Karan Sharma’s vision was to redefine the rules in the Indian logistics industry which was hitherto considered to be a means of just transporting goods from point A to point B. He brought credibility to the sector, brining logistics to the mainstream as a contributor to the nation’s economy. He brought in the best and path-breaking solutions with the flexibility to adapt new practices, policies, and technology to meet and exceed the customers’ expectations. He was also a people’s man. He believed in the dignity of labor and made it his mission to accord respect to the community. He stood for inclusive growth as he supported numerous potential entrepreneurs in setting up their own transport companies. He had a passion to help underprivileged people. He contributed to the education sector by supporting the infrastructure development of schools and colleges. Renowned Global Consultancy Alden Global Conferred the posthumous title of ‘The Logistics Man of India’ upon Shri Jai Karan Sharma, Founder Chairman, Chetak Group. India Post released ‘My Stamp’ to honour and acknowledge Shri Jai Karan Sharma for his role as a self- made entrepreneur and a philanthropist. Shri Jai Karan Sharma, Founder, Chetak Group was bestowed upon with the "Lifetime Achievement Award" at Social Impact Awards organized by Brand Honchos for his Outstanding Performance as Self- made Entrepreneur in Logistics and for pursuing Inclusive Growth.
